This golden herbal hair oil is named for Epona, goddess of horses, green growing things, and all that is untamed, wild, and free.
Horsetail, the star plant in this formula, is one that I have always associated with her; one of the first green things to sprout up in the spring, it's the most ancient of plants, predating even the formation of the oldest forests. It is so named because it resembles the long, lush tail of a mare.
Growing in the magic space between land and water, horsetail is filled with trace minerals and silica that deeply nourish the body and promote strong nails and bones and healthy, glossy hair.
Organic oatstraw, wild nettle, and raspberry leaf harvested from my gardens are all rich in minerals, vitamins and amino acids that support strong, healthy hair. Jojoba oil, rosehip oil, raspberry seed oil, and rosemary essential oil work to nourish, revive, moisturize, and add shine.
All together, this oil is formulated to encourage stronger, shinier, healthier hair and to protect your strands from sun, wind, cold, snow and rain.
Epona is earthy and nutty with just a hint of rosemary, but the scent fades so that it doesn't overpower.
There are three ways to use this oil:
After a shower: Add just a few drops to the palm of your hand (2-3 drops - a little of this rich oil goes a long way) and rub together, then run over damp ends before combing through
On dry hair: Add a few drops to hands, rub together, and gently run your hands through the ends your hair. Remember, a little goes a very long way! Comb through with a natural bristle brush to distribute it through strands.
As a hair mask: Add oil to hair from mid shafts to ends, comb it in, and let it work its magic overnight. Make sure strands are well coated, but not too saturated. You can also add a few drops to your scalp and massage it in to promote growth + healthy follicles. Wash out in the morning with your usual shampoo and conditioner.
Epona works very well as a beard oil, too, to help tame and soften wily strands and condition the skin.
Comes in an 0.5oz glass dropper bottle. External use only.
Because my products are made with fresh or dried plants and only natural ingredients, try to use within 6 months. If you notice any changes in scent or texture, discontinue use.
